La Nación (Ricardo Carpena)

Alan Plachta lo hizo. Este joven guitarrista argentino rompió el maleficio de los segundos discos (el que impide que un buen debut discográfico sea superado por su sucesor) y logró que Lúdico, su flamante álbum, sorprendiera por las canciones, compuestas por Plachta, en general muy inspiradas y en particular con un punto alto en “Guillotina”, y por el virtuoso desempeño de este músico y de sus cuatro compañeros (los saxofonistas Gustavo Musso y Damián Fogiel, el contrabajista Carlos Alvarez y el baterista Alejandro López). El quinteto le sienta bien a Plachta, que cede protagonismo en beneficio de Musso y Fogiel, y la ganancia es para todos. Sobre todo para quien escuche estas canciones, enroladas en el mejor jazz argentino del momento.

Alan Plachta did it! This young Argentine guitar player achieved to release an outstanding second album, even better that the first one. In “Lúdico”, his latest album, the compositions and instrumental virtuosity manages to immediately surprise and call the attention of the listener. In my opinion, he reaches the highest point in compositions such as “Guillotina”, where the great performances of bass player Carlos Alvarez, saxophone players Gustavo Musso and Damian Fogiel, drummer Alejandro Lopez, and himself are appreciated. Plachta creates an interesting atmosphere where each individualism is at its highest potencial and where saxophone players Fogiel and Musso especially manage to stand out. This album is certainly a faithful picture of the great moment the argentine jazz scene is undergoing.
